U2722DE, no USB-C video signal, MacBook Air M1 macOS 15.1 Sequoia

Hello Dell Community,
I am experiencing a frustrating issue with my Dell U2722DE monitor connected via USB-C to my MacBook Air M1 (macOS version 15.1, build 24B83). The setup had been working flawlessly until recently when the monitor suddenly stopped displaying any video signal from my MacBook.
Here are the specifics of the issue:
1. No Display Signal: The monitor no longer shows any video input from the MacBook via USB-C. It doesn’t appear in the Display settings, and the “Detect Displays” button does not resolve the problem.
2. USB Hub Functionality: The monitor’s USB hub features (keyboard, mouse, USB devices) continue to function without issues, which indicates that the USB-C connection itself is partially working.
3. Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
• Switched USB-C cables (tested with multiple high-quality cables).
• Performed SMC and NVRAM resets on the MacBook Air.
• Ensured that the monitor is running the latest firmware (M3T107).
• Tested the monitor with another device (works fine with Windows-based laptops).
• Tried different USB-C ports on the MacBook Air.
• Installed Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM), but it did not help.
I have read through several Reddit threads and noticed that many users have experienced the same issue, especially after recent macOS updates. Despite trying all suggested solutions, the problem persists.
Given that the monitor’s hub features are functional, it appears to be a video signal issue over USB-C specific to the MacBook Air. Has anyone found a reliable solution or workaround for this problem? Any assistance or further troubleshooting advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

After years of troublefree connection, my 4K Dell monitor started going black, no usbc connection.

I tried some other cables I had and they all failed too, even the one I just got 3 days ago with my new ipad Pro. I found an 8K USB-C cable I had ordered from Amazon for something else and that did the trick. It's on sale now btw.

I don't think the cables went bad, but that an Apple update is causing this in the Macbook Air, requiring a better cable. Plenty of other people are having the same problem with the Mac Mini with a Dell monitor.

Hi, stuck with the same problem yesterday. Unplugging the monitor's AC and plugging it back in solved the issue. After that, I updated to Sequoia 15.4.1, and from there, the problem didn't return.

@St8kout I received the package today. Unfortunately, like the other cables I tried, this one didn’t work either. I have tried about 10 cables.

I don’t know what to tell you, but it solved the problem for me, and it’s still working flawlessly. I use it everyday.

I'm having the exact same issue at work, using a MacBook Pro with multiple different Dell displays and cables (probably all the same models). All works fine at home with another Dell display, instead.

When I first plug the USB-C cable, the video is output as normal. After the first time my computer goes to sleep, no video is output any more. The USB-C cable is still charging and the dock is still working (e.g. I can use a mouse attached to the monitor) – just no video at all.

My colleagues using similar MacBooks don't seem to experience this issue.

I've tried using the Dell Display and Peripherals Manager. It doesn't recognise any supported Dell monitor as being connected even when the video is working :/
