DDPM windows version issues

I am using DDPM v 2.1.0.20 on a Widows machine, and also on a MacBook Pro that share the same U4025QW. Previously I was using the Dell Display Manager app on Windows, but kept being informed it must be upgraded to DDPM.

Apart from DDPM being very slow to respond compared for the old Display Manager app, it doesn't support the same hotkeys. I was using ctrl + shift + PLUS (from numeric keypad). The new software doesn't support anything from the numeric pad or many other keys it seems. The Mac version doesn't have an issue.

When I go to edit anything, it can see the monitor, but doesn't enable the settings such as KVM unless left open for around 10 minutes. I seem to have to reset the hot key being used from time to time, as it simply stops responding to key presses randomly.

Can I just go back to the old software and ignore the warnings and prompts to upgrade. DDPM seems to be quite a step backwards in usability.

DDPM is complete garbage. The old versions of DDM were the best, and it's a good thing I still have those drivers because I had to uninstall the new ones because it slows down the PC, is so intrusive, generating so many absurd processes, and consumes so much CPU resources that it's always illogically consuming CPU. DDPM seems like a virus rather than an application, and I only want it for the monitor without reducing the PC's performance. Thank goodness I still have version 1.55 saved, because everything works perfectly with that one, without absurd and useless processes, without telemetry, and without wasting resources. Either you fix this, or I'll never buy a new monitor from Dell again. You should let the user choose to install DDM only for the monitor.

Some of the older DDM (Dell Display Manager) and DPM (Dell Peripheral Manager) files are still available in the FAQ Windows OS DDM and DDPM.

User may install them and just ignore the prompts to install DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager).

I've gone back to DDM, night and day difference in usability.
There needs to be a rethink on the DDPM architecture, in its current state it is unusable.

Unfortunately the link to the Apple version of DDM on the pinned post goes to the Windows version. I can't seem to find the Mac version anywhere.

Hopefully I am here at the right place to write feedback, so that the DELL-developers will get the info.

I also do have problems with the DDPM (v2.1.0.20) software, it is automatically switching from NO KVM to Network KVM. The monitor I am using is U4021QW.

I've found a solution to this problem and wanted to share it for anyone else who might be searching for answers.

  • Uninstall DDPM
  • Install it again, you will be asked if you want to install the network KVM. Here do not set the checkbox for this option.
  • Woala! No network KVM is installed and therefore DDPM cannot be switched automatically to KVM-Network every time you turn on your computer.
