Exchange 2010 sizing question
Has anyone sized an Exchange 2010 environment with SourceOne being used as an archive solution? Curious to know if I need to take this application into account from an application point of view?

Great point. I failed to mention that this SourceOne solution will be using journaling. In speaking with a SourceOne SE, he suggested that I use .5 iop multiplier. This is similar to what you would use with eVault.
Thanks,
Bart

Byrd,
This is an archive solution, as you mentioned. The majority of your inquiry would focus on S1 part. You could try this S1 online sizing tool, available to both of EMC employee and partner.

Byrd,
You maybe need to clarify if your environment sizing includes servers and storage both. I don’t think there is existed tool for combined Exchange and SourceOne. We adopted building-block design represents the required amount of resource needed to support a specific number of Exchange 2010 users on a single server or VM. It is easily to reproduced to support all users with similar user profile characteristics. For Exchange sizing, you can reference the link Simon provided to leverage SDC service.
For Archiving part, the link Eddy provided is good reference for SourceOne sizing including Server#, RAM config, and storage capacity. You need use EMC SourceOne Sizer there and finished questionnaire also. But it is only for GB required and no more details like RAID, Tiering.
It is good topic talking SourceOne with Exchange. Because it is quite usual in environment.
