Inspiron 7567 Microphone Volume Resets to 17
Whenever I turn my laptop off or put it into hibernation it resets the microphone volume to 17. I can't find anything about it online.

May have it sorted out. My system appears to be staying with a Mic. level of 35 which is where I put it.
The following process should be the same as in the tutorial:
-----------------------------------
Download the Dell Audio driver and keep it locally available. When done with that, continue.
Put your system in Airplane mode since we do not want to be online for this.
Open Device Manager, go to sound devices and the Realtek audio device. [Winkey+x and select Device Manager from menu]
Right click and select uninstall. A window will open and you should check the box to uninstall all drivers. Let that process finish.
When it comes back, you may not see a Sound device in Device Manager, if so click the scan for Hardware icon. If it comes back with a Realtek device, uninstall again. You should end up with a High Definition Audio device which has a driver version the same as the Win 10 build.
Once the basic Windows driver is available, install the downloaded Dell Audio Driver. Let it finish and probably reboot. You should end up about where you started. My system seems to be working normally now.
----------------------------------------------------
Below is the process I went through. You don't have to read this but it might be helpful.
I started with the problem indicated in the post. The Microphone level would revert to 17 after almost any event.
First, I went to Realtek and got their latest driver and installed. That install seemed to hold the microphone level. However, it did not give me the popup associated with Waves so I could not plug in and use headphones. I do not know if this step was needed for the fix so I did not include it in the above process.
Since I needed the popup, I did the process at the top of this post so I could start over from scratch.

Odd issue. Have not seen it before.
* Does the issue happen when you restart (not hibernate) the laptop?
* Does the issue happen when you shutdown (not hibernate), then power on?

I can check mine, but before I do, these systems have default sound settings for specific devices. If you are looking at just the internal microphone, you might try saving a new profile in Waves with the volume and other settings you like. The settings from the Speaker Icon on the Taskbar may also be involved.
If I see anything helpful on my system, I will post back.

This happens on shut down, restart, and hibernate. This happens with the internal microphone as well as my Logitech USB Headset.

I agree it is happening on this system. It does not seem to happen on my other two combined audio port systems.
I notice the 7567 is using the Realtek 8142 audio driver. My other two systems have a more advanced driver (8158 & 8166)so this is what I will try next. The Microphone driver seems to come from Windows and agrees with the Build version.

Doesn't seem to be an option in Waves for setting profiles and there aren't any profile settings in the built in Windows settings.

My system resets when I put it to sleep and a later driver does not seem to help. I will have to fiddle around some, such things as using a headphone with mic to see if it behaves the same.
If it is something in the Registry, it may be hard to find.
Setting a preset, which does not seem to help either, is done on the Waves Speaker window on the right side. If you make a change, the icon for a Disk drive highlights.
