T3500 RAM (4Gx2) DIMM 2 faulty

Hi there, I have 2 x 4GB Crucial CT51264BA160BJ Module and they have been happy working in DIMM slots 1 and 2 for a long while.

Today my system rebooted and reporting DIMM 2 is faulty. I swapped the DIMMS around and got the same message.

I have 3rd  DIMM (exact same as above) so i tried that and still reported DIMM2 as faulty.

The Modules I'm using are listed here and I believe they are compatible.

However, contact corrosion is common with RAM.

I suggest you remove and re-seat each RAM stick 4 or 5 times

to burnish the contacts. -

_I had this trouble around Christmas in a T3500 and

did this with _Just the one DIMM slot that "Fail"

also did it 6 times

- then said well One more won't hurt and did one more

and that Fixed it _thanks_``~...

If the failure followed the module, then replacing it will solve the problem.  If the failure occurred in the same socket (socket 2) with more than one module installed there, it's the socket that's bad - in that case it's the mainboard you need to replace, not the module.
