Ordering a new XPS desktop
Hello all,
I welcome your comments on my specs for a new XPS desktop. It is for general consumer use: email, web browsing, word processing. No games or VR. This is what I am planning:
XPS 8920
7th gen Intel (R) i7-7700
Windows 10 pro
8 GB DDR4 Memory
256 GB M.2 PCLe SSD (Boot) + 1TB 720 RPM SATA 6GB storage
AMD Radeon RX 480 with 8GB GDDR5 graphics memory
802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.2
Am I ok with this configuration?

I think that graphic card is a bit too strong. That's a VR ready card. You can try to save money here and go with a cheaper graphics card. Everything else looks good. Nice thinking on getting the 256gb boot drive, time is money they say.

my .02.
1) add an SSD afterwards, as it is less expensive
2) add more memory. 16GB does better than 8GB
the GT 730 is fine for non gaming uses.
