Help with upgrading, simple question.

Well hello there Dell community!

I just have a simple question about upgrading my computer. Last year I purchased an Alienware Area 51 System with two GTX titan X graphics cards in SLI. It has been great but recently I've been fortunate to come across some money and I was thinking of swapping them out for a pair of 1080ti's in SLI.

My question is simply would it be simply pulling out the old graphics cards and inserting the new ones, or would I need a new motherboard and have to upgrade my PSU? If so I might just wait another eighteen months or so and buy another system.

I am thinking about buying a pair of the above, they will work in SLI with the SLI bridge attached of course?

Many thanks, I have a 1500W PSU, I presume that would be enough. I will happily post more specs if required.

The PSU and bridge should be fine. But, in a 1 to 1 no SLI comparison, there is not enough of a difference for me to consider such a video card switch. I do not think that you will "see" a difference in real time gaming =

Thanks Chris. Wow I didn't realise that the numbers were so close. I think I will definitely wait until the gap broadens a little more. Many thanks.
