New Alienware x51 does 5 beeps and don't even start.
I've just got the computer today, I take it out of the box, plug it to the screen, keyboard, mouse and AC, tried to turn it on and it does nothing but five beeps, again and again, I tried contacting the Tech support, but besides hanging up the phone or telling me that they'll send me with the proper person, I haven't even got the chance to explain them the problem. This is really worrying me, first time turning it on and I've already got a problem. What should I do?

Ordered mine on novembre 4; It is still not working today, decembre 6.
I would suggest you cancel your order if it has not shipped yet.
I was very excited to unbox my new X51, one month ago. But when it beeps out of the box, and you have to spend hours on the phone, waiting... When they lie to you, day after day after weeks dealing with the worst customer service ever!
I suspect they will make you pay for shipping it back, to get a rufund...

I found a solution for this. It take a screw driver and removing video card. Once out, find the yellow battery on the back of the system. All you have to do it unplug it. Plug the computer up and I powered it on. Once it clear post and move past the place where is does the five beeps. I cut it off and unplug the system and plug the battery in and it system started up with no problem. That is the solution for the 5 Beep: Reatime Clock error. Hope that helps yall out.

I got mine fixed last friday! Technican came and changed the motherboard, even if they agreed the day before on the phone to send me a new one...? so much confusion! ...
And the motherboard was never back order like they told me on the phone all this time; They had ordered the wrong part! on novembre 20!
Hard to beleive, communication can be such an issue in this era of information!
Hard to trust them after this terrible experience.
My system works great now, except for some windows 8 glitch? anyways, that's another topic.
Good Luck! I guess that's all you need, and good timing...

I purchased an X51 last weekend and have been experiancing the same 5 beeps upon boot up. The problem seemed sporadic, but after dealing with it for a week, I decided to try these steps.
After hooking everything back up, I turn the unit on and no longer recieve the 5 beeps. BUT...I also have no picture. The computer was hooked up to a TV via the HDMI output on the NVIDIA card. I tried swaping that to the integrated HDMI, but still no picture. I imagine the computer is sitting on the BIOS screen, but i'm unable to see it. Would this be normal when removing/replacing the video card and unplugging/plugging back in the CMOS?
I"m bringing a DVI cable and converter home from work today in hopes I can get that method to display on the PC input of my TV. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Chad

My brother has the exact same problem while mine is working fine. He actually plugged the HDMI cable in and had this problem going.
He said it was fine earlier on before he changed the monitor :
Firstly he bought a monitor which does not support HDMI ( CPU working fine)
Secondly, came home plugged in HDMI ( 5 beeping sounds)
I searched online and bumped into forums saying that HDMI doesn't work.
I plugged out the HDMI cable, connect via DVI it worked again, perfectly.

A12 BIOS helps resolve these 5 beeps issues. recommend flashing to the latest bios.
