Alienware Aurora R5 optical drive power cable
Had to swap out the 450W power supply on my brand new Aurora R5 .
Now my new power supply doesn't have a connection to the DVD drive .
The connector on the stock power supply is marked P4 .
Nobody seems to know anything about this . Where can I find this connector ?
Or do I have to swap out the DVD drive as well .

edit: update
eBay search = Dell 1YMGT
interesting eBAY search term results for:
refine your search terms if necessary
interesting adapter: SATA Power from your new SATA cable (see top photo)
example USA vendor eBAY result for above adapter (lowest price $8):
(original post starts below)
I was contacted by a forum member doing an R5 PSU swap, on what DVD power cable to buy & try. This is the original DVD connector end for the stock / original 850watt he ordered:
your P4 from the 460w may or may not look like this
note that 4 Power & 5 DATA are separate cables
this however is the DVD DATA + Power cable seen in my A51 R2: it's fused
My recommendation to the other member, try a simple eBAY search for these terms:
the Male 4pin couples to one of your new Molex Female-ended cables from your pouch
You will get results, those results will have better listing title descriptors which you can use to narrow down a cable search. You may find these fused examples, maybe you can find the solo / discrete power cable by itself; regardless, if you go fused, measure your DATA cable, then buy one of these with the same length (ex., yours is 12inches, buy a 12-18inch, too long is better than too short). With what little time I had to look into this, I found the fused DATA + Power type, under the Slim Line descriptor, so at least it's a start, I hope these work for you and the other fellow, if not, report your findings to the forum where someone else might step in with a better clue than I've given here, this is all the time I have to dedicate to the matter so good luck

Need a pic.
I don't have an Aurora-R5, but you would think it would be a standard SATA power connector.

OK , thanks to everyone for your efforts . I guess I will probably just put another non stock dvd player in ; that seems the easiest solution . For now I just bought an external dvd drive .
