Alienware Amplifier and New Pascal Titan X card
Will the new Pascal Titan X work in the graphics amplifier? Thinking of getting the GA, graphics card, and Vive VR. Currently have latest fully optioned 17 R3 laptop. Was considering the 1080 card but would get the Titan X if it fits/works in the GA and would work with the Vive headset.

I got my Titan X (Pascal) in the mail today and can confirm that it is working with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier now using the newest drivers. Im getting between 80-90 FPS in Doom 2016 with 4K Ultra settings. I am currently using the Desktop driver since there isnt really a mobile driver for the Titan XP. Everything seems to be working great. My Laptop detected it immediately upon first boot, installed the newest drivers. No issues so far. I have an Alienware 17R3 Skylake with GTX 970M. Nvidia Control Panel correctly displays the Titan XP card details. I upgraded from a GTX 1080. Hope this helps everyone!

Spent hours with NVIDIA and more Hours with DELL today trying to get it to work. It sees the card but drivers are no good yet. Long story short, Waiting on new drivers or BIOS upgrade for the new Titan X (Pascal) to work , went back to GTX 1080 FE, until new NVIDIA drivers or DELL BIOS or driver is released.

Thanks for the reply SteveAtPPIHX.
Assuming the drivers and/or bios are updated and the Pascal Titan is made to work in the GA, do you think the card would work at - or near - its full potential? Or would the card be too much for the GA/connecting cord/laptop etc. to handle? I've heard there is approx 10% decrease in the GTX 1080 when used in the GA (compared to desktop pc). Just wondering if the Pascal Titan X may cause bottle necks to the point of not being much better than the 1080.
