Alienware 13 R2 Wifi - completelybroken

I have two wifi routers

Actiontek C2000A

Netgear WNDR4000

which work flawlessly with about 20 different devices in the home. Except the Alienware 13R2.

This computer either will not connect AT ALL or will randomly disconnect after a few minutes of service.

Is there a fix for this? I did a search of the forum & did not find anything though googling this issue there are some threads from earlier this year that point to a problem endemic with the Killer broadband card.

So, yeah, I'm using a cable, always, with this machine. Not too cool!

Thanks in advance

Hello.

You have killer Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth.

Open control panel and uninstall the killer wifi and killer Ethernet drivers from Dell.

Leave your killer Bluetooth driver installed.

Install these updated drivers directly from the killer website.

www.killernetworking.com/.../driver-downloads

You need Killer Driver for E2200, E2400, and Killer Wireless.

Once you have installed new driver and restarted laptop, open device manager.

Right click on your WiFi card and open properties.

Along the top of open window you will see a tab called "Power Management" click this tab and then UNCHECK the box that says "Allow computer to switch off this device to save power"

Click OK and close pop up windows.

Hopefully this will fix you problems.

Yes the plain vanilla Killer drivers did the trick. Thanks!
