330w PSU won't power my X51 R3?

Hello, I just recently upgraded my graphics card to a GTX 1060 in my Alienware X51 R3. In doing so, I had to get a new psu as well. I posted another question about it and was told to get a 330w psu. I got the Dell 330W Replacement AC Adapter for Dell Alienware x51 Desktop, Alienware M18x M18x R1, R2, R3, AM18X-6732BAA, Alienware M18x-0136 W7HP64 , M18X-0143 (Amazon description). Yet when I try to power on my PC, nothing happens. I tried with my old psu just to see and it powered it just fine, but I know I can't use it that way. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you just received a new part that doesn't work, isn't the common sense thing just go back to the vendor and look for a replacement/return?

Your description of the part that i found (on amazon) has reviews directly stating that others have found this item to NOT power up an X51 also, from April 2016. Seems to me you got unlucky too.

Also, Dell has a new revision/part # for their current 330w(DP/N 5X3NX), here. This new part number seems to supersede the ones in your amazon description, and is probably better to search on.  It also can be found on amazon, for slightly cheaper, but guaranteed compatibility vs cheaper price is your call.

Hi,

You need to get the 330W PSU and also the power cord cable. These are our part #s for the 330 AC (Y90RR) and for the power cord (5120p).
