Dell Inspiron 13-7352 installing ubuntu ?

Hi.

I buy this laptop today, I put my usb ubuntu boot memory, press F12, select the USB and Ubuntu Installer run, then the system was installed.

When the laptop was restarted the screen is stay in purple screen :(

The same memory was tested in other laptop and work :S

Why can't install linux ? I need gnu/linux because I'm developer and is very important for my work.

If Dell doesn't have linux support I need change the laptop and buy HP Laptop (like my last laptop)

Regards !

I got it working!!! It took a while but this is exactly what I did. I will try and shed as much light on the problem I can.

Step 1:

Download Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS 64bit from Ubuntu.com

I have not tested the newest version so I would suggest using the LTS version because it most definitely has support for UEFI systems. It MUST be 64bit. 32bit does not have support for UEFI systems.

Step 2:

Download UnetBootin Live Linux USB Creator. This Boot drive creator will make it bootable in UEFI mode which is ABSOLUTELY necessary.

Step 3:

Use UnetBootin to create the boot drive.

Step 4:

Press the start menu and restart the PC while holding the [SHIFT] key. This will take you to the advanced boot menu of the windows boot-loader.

Step 5:

From the advanced boot menu press "Use a Device" and boot from the USB drive.

Step 6:

Select "Install Ubuntu along side the windows boot loader"(or something smilar) when installing Ubuntu. This will install it correctly.

THEN YOU ARE FINISHED!!!!

I hope this helps! It finally worked for me!

Ubuntu UEFI requires 64 bit 12.04.5 or higher.

Dell Ships Systems with UBUNTU Pre installed.

I have the same issue! It is frustrating. Especially since a large amount of dell hardware is so compatible with Linux(especially Ubuntu). I think it may have something to do with the UEFI BIOS.

I have tried installing with a dedicated boot partition as well as with just a root partition.

Any help on this Dell? Or has anyone else solved this problem?
