Anyone running Linux on optiplex 9020 (Haswell)?
Subject says it all, I think.
Preferably Ubuntu, but pretty much anything would work.
TIA.
BH.

Hello Bryan.Hunter,
Dell Optiplex 9020 does supports Ubuntu 12.04. The drivers for this Operating System is also available in Dell Support Site.
Hope this helps!

The best forum to post this in, is the Linux Forum, I am moving the thread to it.

Yes, Ubuntu 12.04 works.
We are working at getting Intel's kernel changes to provide TSX support up and running. We know of others that have accomplished this with Fedora 19 using Inspiron boxes.
All done, thanks.

We have a research group running 13.04 on these machines. No extreme usage, running headless, but stable. I recall (perhaps imperfectly) that 13.x+ Ubuntu releases include Haswell support.

Hi - just bought 4 Optiplex 9020s as the Ubuntu site. Lists them as certified hardware. Trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from CD, but NIC appears not to work hence cannot download updates during install. I've tried flashing the BIOS to A03 but no change :(
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the NIC to work?? Same issue on all 4 desktops, so not a faulty NIC.
Thanks

http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201302-12680/components/ are the components in the system they certified
is your NIC the same one?
What does executing lspci command in a Terminal window show?

Seems I'm not the only one with this problem, as I have just come across this post:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/310442/intel-i217lm-ethernet-controller-not-detected-by-ubuntu-12-04lts
As suggested in the above post, installing the e1000e driver from the Intel e1000e drivers page worked perfectly. Seems the version of the kernel in Ubuntu 12.04 does not include this driver, but installing manually works.

Looks like you have found the solution. Congrats!
It appears that the desktop was verified with a different version of Ubuntu.

How to enable gnome 3 but not fallback to gnome 2 (Debain Wheezy)? I believe it's caused by the video card. I've install the firmware-linux-nonfree xserver-xorg-video-intel xserver-xorg-video-ati
