Latitude 5511/5411 Firmware 1.42.0

Anybody got any insight from Dell on where the mystery 1.42.0 firmware for Latitude 5511/5411's is that addresses CVE-2025-33043?

The DSA-2025-237: Security Update for Dell Client Platform for an AMI BIOS Vulnerability | Dell UK page unfortunately directs me to firmware for the Latitude 7310 and 7410 - clearly the links are wrong. If I go direct to the support page for these models, the latest version is still 1.41.0, released 12/01/2026.

We still have around 76 of these models out in the field, so would like to get this firmware hole fixed.

@SenorEngineer

Just got final confirmation on this! BIOS version 1.42.0 is indeed a typo and has been corrected in the DSA article. CVE-2025-33043 was resolved with BIOS version 1.40.0 and it now correctly linking to 1.40.0 as well.

I've reached out to our teams to look into this further. Either the 5411/5511 is not meant to be in this list, or the BIOS update was not rolled out and is incorrectly linked. If I had to guess, somebody probably forgot to role 1.42.0 out and the link is likely just wrong. I'll check back in once I have an update.

@SenorEngineer

Not yet, I'm still waiting to hear back from our DSA team. Its unfortunately going through a middle man process so its a bit delayed on responses.

@DELL-Daniel V thanks for the official update on this.

I should point out that in Microsoft Defender 1.40.0 still lists the CVE, but it no longer shows if updated to 1.41.0.

@SenorEngineer I'll relay that to our teams. Not too sure where the line of communication ends up with Microsoft. In any case, we would typically advise users to update a system to the latest available BIOS anyway, so if it goes away with 1.41.0, then that just may be the easier fix.
