Dell Latitude E7470 will not wake from sleep mode - at all - windows completely inaccessible

I have done a fresh Windows 10 Pro install on my Dell, using a boot disk, Win 11 is not compatible, and Windows is completely up to date, and BIOS reset to factory, however the laptop will not power on from sleep mode. I can confirm that the laptop is sleeping as the LED on the power button is gently pulsing, indicating sleep mode.

The laptop will only power on if the battery is unplugged and replugged. Shut down and restart seems to work. The charging cable, also works - but just charges the battery.

I cannot even turn off the laptop by holding the power button, I tried holding up to 2 minutes - no effect.

Hi

Anything resembling Fast Start Up, Fast Boot etc, IMHO, should be turned off/disabled.

The 7470/80/90 seem bitchy when it comes to starting with battery.
Would make CMOS reset in such a case.
The very first start after that takes a long time, not surprising, patience.

I've done a factory reset in the BIOS but unfortunately the problem persists. Are there any other solutions?
