X400 both power supplies gone, red led blinking or on

Hi,

I have an offline node since this morning, one x400 node is gone from the cluster.

Both power supplies had a red (amber) led on. Tried by unplugging the power cord, only 1 ps, but no luck.

Since I have 2 spare ps I replaced them but nothing has changed, the red light is still on, if I press the power button the red led start blinking and nothing happens.

Could someone please help me? What went wrong? What should I try to replace?

Thx

Best regards

I have not been able to find a way to resolve it without wiping the data. The file may have been corrupted from the other damage. Calling in is still the best option.

Hi,

Is the amber light on the front of the unit also amber? Is the iDRAC reachable?

Hi Josh,

Well every led was off. If I unplugged the ps and plugged in the power cord it worked fine.

Eventually I took it apart and found what went wrong (see photo)

Since I have a node for spare parts I replaced the board.

Reconnected the node to the cluster but it has a journal failure.

If connected to the node by serial I get to choose between rebooting, recovery and continue booting, unfortunately none of them resolved the issue, I'm not sure what commands should I run in recovery to repair it so it could connect to the node. I know that isi_reformat_node would eventually fix it but all data would be gone and for this I would need to remove the node from the cluster before readding it.

If you have any suggestions please help me.

Many thx

Since there is physical damage the best option is to call phone support, even if it is out of warranty and go through the safety procedures.

As I mentioned, the node is working now, only the journal issue that came up, but that's not a hw issue anymore.

If there is no other option I will contact support.

Thx
