Isilon Simulator Upgrade
Hello All,
I am trying to upgrade Isilon simulator from 9.7.0 to 9.7.3 version. In order to test the functionality in production. I am getting this error "unable to locate image for current version in onefs catalog" and i noticed there is no image in the catalog for simulators. I would like to know whether is it possible to upgrade the simulator ?

You can't update the simulator.

I upgraded my 9.5.0 simulator to 9.5.1.3.
I had to first import the 9.5.0 base image to the catalog:
isi upgrade catalog import /ifs/data/Isilon_Support/OneFS_v9.5.0.0_Install.isi
Then I installed the 9.5.0 INFRA patch:
isi upgrade patches install 9.5.0_UGA-PATCH-INFRA_2023-03_PSP-3206.isi --simultaneous
Then I upgraded the cluster to 9.5.1.3:
isi upgrade cluster start --install-image-path=/ifs/data/Isilon_Support/OneFS_v9.5.1.3_LTS2023_Install.isi --rolling

Hello Saran,
It is best to do a fresh install of Isilon simulator when you want to change versions. Upgrading the simulator doesn’t work as clean as a fresh install.

yes, i know it might not be clean. But i would like to know whether it's possible or not. Challenge with deploying the newer version is that , it's not possible to get the version we would like to test. For example, i would like to test 9.7.3 in simulator but i couldn't find the version for download.

Nope , there is no custom certificate. In general, is it possible to do the upgrade from 9.7 to the newest version ?

For upgrades in general yes, https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000178133/onefs-upgrades-info-hub in the simulator it might not work.

Still i haven't received a conclusive answer for simulator upgrade. I know we can do the upgrades in physical system.

@Dan Adams Have you tried using cluster config export & import option , "isi cluster config exports"
