Need to use my Inspiron on AC power
Inspiron 5401/5408
My laptop battery is fully dead and i have unplugged it and lack of money has forced me to use it on AC power. But facing some issues while doing that.
Issues
I need to drain the residue battery by pressing the power button for atleast 30 sec and then plug it in to boot it and this boot takes longer time than when its on battery.
when it is finally booted the bios screen pops up saying. "please run setup program and time and date not set". i fell the bios is resetting every boot time.
After logging in it runs pretty normal but heats up way more than on battery.
It doesn't wake up from sleep as quick as it used to on battery there's a delay of 6 to 7 sec.
sometimes after waking from sleep it does not let me sign in shows a warning " due to many failed sign in attempts you need to keep this pc powered on for 2 hours to sign in again. this happens sometimes too when i restart the pc.
My pc - Dell Inspiron 14 5408, windows 11 pro.

If the battery is dead, it needs to be removed from the system -- end of life batteries commonly swell and may damage the system.
If you're seeing that problem with the reset, replace the CMOS/Reserve battery. See the service manual:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/inspiron-14-5401-laptop/docs
Heating may mean the system needs an internal cleanup and replacement of the thermal pads. The system will run faster by default on AC power and heat up more rapidly than on battery.
With a dead main battery, if the system is to be left unattended, shut it down rather than suspending it.

@ejn63 Thanks for the prompt response,
Changing the Cmos battery helped me to restore the performance of my system.
