Inspiron 7620 Battery
Since I uploaded the latest recommended Bios of 1.34, my battery drain has been reduced in half. I was able to run on battery 2-3 hours doing simple tasks. The battery now expires within one hour or so doing the same tasks. Help?

The battery has lost almost 40% of its design capacity so it's nearing the end of its useful life. I don't think the firmware update had anything to do with the issue.
The system (and presumably the battery) is over three years old and you're seeing the signs of normal aging from use. You may not need a new battery immediately but if you need the capacity back, you will need a replacement.

For direct Dell Technical Support, click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share with them the private Service Tag, issues, this thread link, and all of your troubleshooting. This will in turn generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag.
I'd recommend checking the following guide for some of our standard battery troubleshooting:
How to Troubleshoot Dell Laptop Battery Issues
In short, you'll want to check your Battery Health within the system BIOS, run the preboot diagnostic, and if needed, run a battery report. If the battery health in the BIOS is already reading as fair or poor, then it'd be a good idea to replace it. If it reads as Good or Excellent, then the diagnostic may help confirm if there are any other possible issues. That said, batteries normally have a 1 year manufacture warranty since they are consumables so if over a year old, then you may need to purchase a new one. I'd chat with the Get Help Now button to go through that troubleshooting if you need help to do so and to verify your battery coverage.

Run a battery report - at a command prompt with admin privilege type
powercfg /batteryreport
What are the current and design charge capacity figures for the battery?

Thanks! I just seemed bizarre that it happened all of a sudden. For now I am enabling all power saver modes to give me some more life.

I would not wait a long time to look for one. Dell Genuine battery replacement is hard to find these days.
