Dell External Drive Issue
My Dell External USB Slim DVD =/- RW Optical Drive DW316 plays music CD's great. But it won't play DVD's. I tried to install Media Suite 12 (ironically provided with the player) and it said I need to clear it with an Administrator. I am the administrator of my computer, but I have no idea how to do this. Help?

Marking this as Dell Solution for visibility on the thread. Please note this is still being looked into:
Thanks for bringing the issue to our attention. If you're using an External DW316 drive, our engineering teams have suggested to download and install the file at this link.
For us to investigate the issue further kindly share this information below:
The info.ini file should be located on the install disc that shipped with the drive. It's also possible the disc might have the full version on the label.

You can install the CyberLink Media Suite 12 as an administrator by right-click on the installer file setup.exe or install.exe. .Select "Run as administrator, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
Sometimes, security software can interfere with the installation process and may require temporarily disabled. If the issue is persisted, you may consider to download and install CyberLink Media Suite Essentials (free) from Microsoft Store https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000201421/how-to-download-and-install-cyberlink-media-suite-essentials

Right clicking and running as an administrator doesn't work.
Apparently, the disk included with the external Dell DVD drive only works with internal drives.
Why they included it is a mystery to me.
If anyone knows how to install the program I would love to know.

Same problem. External drive won't play DVDs.
