Where can I find the Windows product key for my Dell desktop?
My Dell desktop currently has the Windows 10 Pro which is upgraded automatically from the original Windows version. Now, I want to install the Windows 11. To do so, I need to provide a Windows product key, which is not Windows product ID. I learn that a product key of Windows 10 can be used for Windows 11. Microsoft says that I need to ask the PC manufactory for the key. My Dell desktop is no longer under the support service. Where can I find the Windows product key?

Hi, if you download a small program called Produkey (Google it and it’ll take you to the page) and run it, it’ll display your COA’s for all your Microsoft products.

This may be a 9 year old dell desktop you have. It may have win 7 originally. If the pc has lost the Win 7 pro sticker which has the oem COA key, then you probably cannot find it back. You can however look for the key of Win 7 pro from another pc you have access to and use that to activate either Win 11 or 10.

Your computer probably does not qualify for upgrading to 11. See this-

@Vernon618 - Always include exact PC model in your posts.
After you update to Win 11, log into your Microsoft account and see if it activates automatically, assuming your PC meets Microsoft's requirements for Win 11.
And if not, Microsoft will support Win 10 until 10-Nov'25 so you still have almost three years to use Win 10.

My Dell desktop is not on the list. Someone shows me an article on how to install Windows 11 on a PC that doesn't meet the boot mode and TPM 2.0 requirements.

I possibly can find the original Windows CD which shall have the product key on.
