USB-C
Attempting to connect a second monitor to my Inspiron 3891 via a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter however the system is saying “incompatible device”. I’m assuming this is because it’s not a thunderbolt port. Am I correct that the transmission of a video signal won’t occur if it’s not a thunderbolt port? Thanks in advance

No mention that the USB-C is capable of video display.

True, no thunderbolt icon on the port. It's just USB 3.2. You do have both HDMI and VGA ports on the back though (assuming no discrete video card). By the way, if you want to send a private message, click on the envelope icon at the upper right of the page—actually I have no idea how to get there from the mobile site.
