Ram upgrade for an Inspiron 5676
Inspiron 5676
I've been having memory management errors and tried numerous solutions including verifying files and error checking. So I'm wanting to upgrade my ram on my computer. Problem is I'm not sure what ram to get exactly that'll fit in my comp. I've an Inspiron 5676 with 16 GB ram 2400mhz. My motherboard is a Dell OVYXHD. I'm wanting to upgrade to 32 gb ram but I've been told the fastest read speed I can have on this comp is 2400mhz. I was thinking about getting this: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2x16GB-PC4-19200-Systems/dp/B01CYILUB8/ref=sr_1_3?ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.9fe8cbfa-bf43-43d1-a707-3f4e65a4b666
Would this work?

The faster RAM Crucial sells will also work -- it will simply downclock to whatever speed the CPU you have supports.
AMD systems built with standard mainboards have the ability to adjust RAM speed and timing -- I don't think your Inspiron desktop has that, so the CPU calls the memory speed.

Corsair Vengeance is designed for high performance systems that allow for adjusting memory timing at the firmware level -- your system does not have that ability. Most likely outcome will be failure to boot.
Your best bet is to buy RAM certified to work in your system -- Crucial (link below) is one option. Kingston also has certified RAM. I don't think Corsair does, so if you decide to chance it, be sure you understand your seller's restocking fee policy if you buy.

@ejn63 I see a 32GB Crucial ram kit with 2400mhz speed. Would that be my best bet?
