Prepping my Inspiron 24 5488 for recycling?
A two part question
A) what folders should copy do my flash drive before I erase the hard drive? I don't plan to use them, but you never know. The Inspiron 24 5488 has already been migrated to my new laptop.
B) what's the best way to wipe the hard drive?

Besides the suggestion posted by ejn63, review the answer your questions as alternative options.
A) Access using file explorer through OS drive (C:) or folder shortcut for each users if there are more than one, you would want to copy following folders: Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos.
B) When ready to drive hard drive, access BIOS settings and run Dell Data Wipe. That will secure erase of all hard drives in your system.

If you're recycling the system, remove and retain the drive.

Also export or manually backup Chrome bookmarks and History if you have any.
C:\Users\(you)\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Default\Bookmarks and/or History file
You can manually add it back to your new profile on your new drive.
Get out the power drill for the old drive after you have verified your backed up data. Make Swiss Cheese out of the old drive, then recycle.
