Inspiron 3910, GPU upgrade questions
Inspiron 3910
Hello everyone,
I own an Inspiron 3910 desktop, for which I would like to upgrade the GPU.
I have a lot of questions because I have never done this before.
The current GPU of my desktop is an integrated Intel UHD 730 (with a processor Intel Core i5-12400)
1) In the "Inspiron 3910 Setup and Specifications", it says there are only 3 discrete GPUs supported by my desktop: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730/GTX 1650 SUPER/1660 SUPER
Does that mean that other GPUs outside of those 3 will not work ?
2) Since I want to keep my processor (which integrates my current GPU), will it cause issues if I add another GPU ?
For example, if I were to get the "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER". Would it cause issues in terms on energy consumption/heating ? Would I have to add a fan ?
3) Since the desktop is pretty small, would there actually be enough space to add another GPU ?
Thank you in advance.

1) Those 3 discrete graphics cards were available to be sold from Dell and shipped with the system. They were tested for compatibility and validated by Dell. Some other retail graphics cards will work with your machine as well if they met the fitments and power requirements.
2) The integrated graphics Intel UHD 730 was designed to work by itself AND together with a discrete graphics. If a discrete graphics card met the requirements to be installed into the system, they are on separate power rail and each has its own cooling fan. There should not be a concern.
3) Your mini tower desktop was designed with enough space to add a GTX 1650 super or GTX 1660 super as indication in the machine specifications.
Although you have prepared well with questions you wanted to ask and done researching on the setup and specifications, you have overlooked an important information, POWER. To accommodate the discrete graphics card options, Dell also shipped the machine with different power supply. Check yours to see which PSU you have in your machine. If you have 180w PSU, it's a NO go, can not add any discrete graphics. If you have a 240w PSU, it's for the GT 730 option. If you have a 300w PSU, that will allow the GTX 1650 super or GTX 1660 super to be installed as the power supply had an 8-pin power connector for graphics card.

Besides the detailed clear answer of chino, these are the Nvidia RTX gpu as well as AMD RX gpu validated in 3910 by users. User has reported DP/N TPX56 Dell 500w psu works in 3910 too.
