Inspiron 3671, monitor HDMI cable not fitting
I am trying to hook up a monitor with an HDMI cable to my Inspiron 3671.
I am unable to get the HDMI cable to insert into the HDMI slot in the back of the unit. It is "too small" to accept the cable. The slot in the unit extends a bit from the back of the unit, that is, it is not flush like every other HDMI connection I have ever seen. The cable neither fits within or over the HDMI slot.
I will save the long story, but I purchased this computer 2 years ago and am just trying to set it up today. I can connect using VGA cable but would really like the ability to use multiple displays in the future.
Any thoughts/suggestions?

@DELL-Chris M - May be both. The HDMI port either got pulled out of or pushed into the back plate with the broken end of a video cable still plugged in.
It's really jagged around the top left corner of the opening so that can't be normal/good, especially when compared to the back panel photo you posted.

I guess I am sending this to myself.
But....I got an email response asking about a service tag or express service code -- neither of which I believe I have.
When I replied to the email, it bounced back as it is a "no reply" address.
Still need help.

Hello @830924 , to communicate with @DELL-Chris M , you would sign in to this forum and click on the envelope icon on top right corner of the screen, you will see email like features and you can send direct message. Hope this helps.
If you still need help from the community, post a picture of the HDMI connection from both the cable and the back of your PC. Similar like this picture below.

The private messages you are receiving are from our DELL-Cares agents asking for the private Service Tag number to ascertain the purchased warranty period. We also need to know what specific monitor model.
The private Service Tag number label is directly under the blue VGA port =

The picture you posted to me looks like someone pulled the HDMI port out of the back plate? Or that is the broken end of an HDMI female cable?

That explains a lot. Check the remaining VGA port to see if it works. The discrete graphics is another option. Factory configurations with supported drivers by Dell are below if you are looking for upgrade:
