Inspiron 3455 no video
OK folks, I have an Inspiron 3455 with no boot video
system arrived with this issue
being the NTTSA (no time to screw around) guy, wiped the system reinstalled fresh W10.... oh well back to the same
system boots with no error beeps
with HDMI cable attached I get second monitor all well and good, straight into windows
the media panel on the side, only power works, display mode no, volume up down no
swapped out the 0K54K5, same thing
updated BIOS
cleared CMOS with jumper removal... also cleared the PWD with jumper (just in case)
have pulled power, held power button down for 20-30 seconds... nada
running wired mouse and keyboard
this is really a nice system, being the Scotsman I am, would rather rub copper off a penny than toss this
I am sure that someone has the exact answer to this issue
thanks, Bill

the unit is going to the boneyard... options other than self repair are not viable at this time.
thanks for the replies

This is an older PC model, so did you just get it 2nd hand?
Did you try clearing BIOS and installing a fresh motherboard battery?
Did the back light in the built-in LED panel fail? You'd need more than the copper rubbed off a bushel of pennies to replace that panel.

not sure, but second hand or not, would make no difference
yes... replaced the CMOS battery
"Did the back light in the built-in LED panel fail?" am not getting any images when I put a bright flashlight close to the screen, I don't have the expertise to tear down and test something I have no schematics to lead the way.
its sad, runs very well, but I have a feeling it will be headed to the great recycle yard in the sky

You could contact Dell's Out-of-Warranty Repair to get an estimate to fix it...
