Inspiron 24 5000 All-in-One setup.
Foolish question I fear, but extra cautious setting up new device. There is an orange paper/plastic tab sticking out on top edge surface of screen, I think where web cam pops up. Am I supposed to just pull that tab out as part of initial setup?

I got tech support in chat window. I didn't realize I have to press down on the camera to get it to pop up, and then push again to close it. I figured it would control that itself as needed. After I got it to pop up, I could see the tab is attached to the camera so it could be easily pulled off, but I don't think it is covering anything so I might just leave it there for now.
After figuring that out, the tech was very helpful, taking over my PC and checking things, updating BIOS and drivers and doing full system check for me.
Thanks for your effort trying to help me.

Remove it, since you are unboxing the machine I am assuming its in first 30 days of purchase, dell will take it back no questions asked.
Check this video, I am assuming you meant this

I already pulled off the green tape it shows in that video.
There's still another smaller orange tab that goes down into the edge of that slot; it doesn't pull out easily. But it must be locking the web cam because I got to where it asked if I wanted facial recognition to sign in and said to center my face but it wasn't showing any image and camera didn't pop up. But the tape is not across the top as if it would block coming up.
I just realized yesterday I am close to the 30 day limit without having unboxed it yet; was hoping for quick easy setup just to be sure it seemed to be working right.

It's part of the clear protective sheet covering the clear front of the camera housing module that pops up and can be pushed down to close. As suggested, you should peel it off because the camera image will be hazy otherwise if you decide to ever to use it.
I mean, if you really want to, you can leave it, but the OCD side of me would be bugged by that orange tab just sitting there staring at me.
My wife has that same machine, so I know what you are talking about, and that tab didn't last 10 seconds as I was setting it up for her.
