Help Upgrading my G5 5000
Hello everyone. I have a G5-5000 and I absolutely love it. It was affordable and does everything I want it to do. I am currently interested in upgrading it and have a few questions I am hoping someone can help me with.
My current system:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz
128 GB (128 GB usable)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 TI
Power Supply - Stock
CPU Cooler - Stock
Modifications I have made:
1) I replaced the rear fan with a lager one and put two fans in the front of the case.
2) Added in an internal USB 3.0 expansion card.
QUESTIONS:
1) What CPUs can I upgrade to? Am I able to upgrade to a better i9 chip? Which ones?
2) Will I need a better CPU cooler if I do? Which ones?
3) What is the largest/best Graphics Card that will fit in the system?
4) Will I need a better Power Supply with a better Graphics Card (I am guessing so).
5) Does DELL sell a better power supply that fits in this case?
Thank you to anyone who can help me out here with some information.

Userbenchmark shows how users have upgraded the CPU and GPU in the G5 5000. It lists configs with an i9-10900KF CPU being used, but you certainly will need a better heat sink and fan(s) for this flame thrower. NOTE: Don't pay extra for a non-"F" CPU because this PC doesn't support onboard Intel Graphics ports, which is what the "F" indicates.
The PSU may be an issue because it's a proprietary design and Dell only offered either a 360W or 500W PSU. You said "Stock" PSU but that doesn't tell us what size PSU you have.
Lots of threads discussing PSUs and other upgrades for this PC model so read them...
EDIT: There's a list of CPUs that Dell validated in this model in the specs, here.

I'm using a 3070ti (290W TDP) with spliced lines on my Dell 500W PSU. Been about half a year and zero issues!

Did you get the system with the 500W power supply with a window case? I recall the RTX 3070 was an option to purchase when I bought the same system, though I myself went with the RTX 3060 Ti at the time. So presumably those two are possible upgrade paths you can take. Aside from graphics card, the best upgrade you can make is replace the awful CPU cooler. I replaced my rear exhaust fan with a Noctua NF-A9 and that dropped temps by 7-10C, but replacing the junk cooler with a Noctua NH-U9S dropped it 25-30C; I now have idle temps in the mid 30's celsius (whereas before it was 50-60C), and gaming pushes my CPU temps to ~70C instead of 95C with the stock cooler. Whether or not you'll see any significant difference in games and such is difficult to say, but it will at least improve the lifespan of the components inside and an overall quieter system. I honestly don't think upgrading to an i9 in the same generation is going to give you significant improvement considering the cost.
Instructions to install the Noctua listed in the post here:
Re: Dell G5 Cooling issues - Dell Community
As mentioned, you're sort of stuck with the PSU as its proprietary, though with the 500W power supply I've had no issues powering my i7-10700F, RTX 3060Ti, 2 larger fans, 3 internal SSD's, a HDD, and about 5 external USB hard drives and other devices.

Didn't DELL have a 750W power supply? I searched and cannot find it.
I sold my 3060Ti last year and recently got a ASUS 6600xt Dual fan OC. Was looking to upgrade to something bigger. AMD is cheaper and uses less power consumption.

I currently have two 92mm intake fans. (Noctua and a cheap Fractal Designs infront of the GPU which is thin. BARELY FITS) and 92mm Noctua exhaust fan. U9S Noctua CPU Cooler. 10900F i9CPU. 512SSD and 1Tb SATA SSD.
GPU temp is 65c / CPU 58C

I don't believe they offered a 750W power supply, as I would have chosen that one! Maybe that was for one of their Alienware Aurora systems? Gamers Nexus did a review of the G5, and while they did tear into it for it's proprietary motherboard and awful cooling (thankfully the latter can be alleviated), and while it too is proprietary, they did mention the power supply was just fine; Dell didn't cheap out on it as they did the CPU cooler.

@Spreadinmayo The specs say the largest PSU Dell ever offered in the G5 5000 was 500W.
The PSU (360W or optional 500W) is a custom design so a standard PSU won't fit inside the case. These PSUs also use a customized power connector on the motherboard.

Dang that's too bad. Guess my next option is save my i9 and replace it with a cheaper i5. Build a whole new PC from scratch and sell this whole Dell prebuild entirely.

Sounds like a plan...
Don't forget to back up all your files and make sure you have product keys for all your software so you can install on a new PC. Then nuke the drive(s) to remove all your personal info and do a clean install of Win 10 or Win 11, both of which are supported by Dell on this model.
And if you do a DIY, you'll also need to purchase a new license for Windows from Microsoft...

Lol, there exists a 24pin to 6pin adaptor if you don’t mind the external power supply. I happily just upgraded to an HP Omen 3090. I thought I bought a Dell one, but I had to cut inside my case to make it fit because it had 3 fans.
No issues but a long time turning the computer on!

@DELL-Cares hi, I've got a question about my g5 5000 desktop PC. A 3050gpu isn't on the supported list of gpus but it meets all criteria and dimensions list. However I'm still unsure.
