Dell G5 5000 CPU Upgrade
Dell G5 5000
Hello,
I have Dell G5 5000 Desktop that I purchased couple of years ago. I have following Specs
CPU: i5 10400f
GPU: RTX 3060
PSU: 500W
RAM: 16gb DDR4
Motherboard: Dell OM6C7G, Intel H470 (Comet Lake PCH-H)
Bios Version: 1.18.1
I have also upgraded the CPU fan to K series fan and also added the front 120mm fan and rear 90mm fan.
My question is, is it possible to use 11th Gen i7-11700 or i9-11900 on this PC?
Thanks

there is zero evidence that G5 5000 runs 11700 or 11900 according to user benchmark

There seems to be few Dell's that can run more than one gen. Typically limited by chipset. As redxps pointed out, the G5 5000 is limited to 10th gen.

The differences between 10700 and 11700 was not substantial. You would get more performance upgrading the cooling.
