Can I upgrade m.2 drive on Inspiron 3910
I have an Inspiron 3910 with a 250G m.2 drive. I have no SSD so this is my only storage. Can I upgrade this to at least a 1 or 2T m.2? And if so, is there a recommended one?

Any standard M.2 2230 or 2280 drive will work.

inspiron 3910 locks during log-in, accepts login PIN then quickly flashes welcome before screen goes grey. Cursor is there and I can bring up task monitor page and navigate it. Is there a 'safe' boot like the old days? What can I do?

Yes, Safe Boot is still in Windows. Not sure if that will solve the issue.
May need to reload Windows if that's the OS you're using. Sounds like it became corrupted somehow.
First thing, test or replace the size 2032 battery. The 3910 came out in 2022. Battery should still be good, but 3 years may be borderline for it. Some batteries (Sony) only last 2 years. Energizer is the best bet.
