PCs wont boot if Secure Boot is enabled

I've created dynamic images of Windows 11 24H2 with secure boot on, with secure boot off, but after restoring, I cannot get it to boot. I get the error "Operating System Loader has no signature. Incompatible with Secureboot. All bootable devices failed."

UPDATE June 12th 2025: This was resolved in the latest release of DIA 11.2.0.12. The below mentioned workaround below is not needed if your USB key is updated to that version.

With the latest builds of Windows (beginning in February 2025) there are issues booting after imaging with the DIA USB drive. This issue is not present from the factory.

USB workaround:

1- Create a file named “after_restore.cmd” with the following command in it.

"bcdboot O:\Windows /s S: /f UEFI"

(no quotes & 1 line)

2- Place it in the Dell_Tools folder on the first partition of the DIA USB (FAT32) and then image.

Thanks,

Tyler

Neet to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS. Then you can boot from your DIA flash drive.

@cslob - what model are you restoring to, what is the BIOS version & what driver pack are you using?

@DELL-Tyler M

Hello, I'm also having this problem on a Latitude 5550 with it's corresponding driver pack.  It happens if I load the image that I upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 with the latest MS updates.   The image with Win11 22H3 boots up just fine. BIOS version 1.13.1

Driver pack win11_latitudee16mtl5450_a04

Please open an incident with the Image Assist support desk. US_OSImaging@dell.com. Include logs please. Once the Image Assist restore is complete & before rebooting > press Fn + F9 (captures screenshot) & Fn + F7 (captures logs).

Thanks I will open a ticket with support.  btw the image also failed on a Latitude 5420.  I'm also going back to the snapshot of when I first updated to Win1122H4 to do more testing.

I have exactly the same problem.  I created a dynamic Win ENT 24h2 with Dell_IAX_11.1.3.11 on a VM for our enterprise.  Thought this was an issue on my part so I started creating a new gold image.  Vanilla build does the same.  Also thought it had something to do with the drive letter assignments during capture/restore or with the UEFI partition.  Then I happened onto this thread.  Just wanted to add that this happens on all models of systems we have here.  Lat 5550/5350 + legacy.  Opti 5400/7410/7420 + legacy so its not model specific.

I also have a call scheduled with Dell to review our gold image that was supplied with this "issue".

I'll mention it and see if there is a work around besides the workaround as mentioned to disable secure boot.  which is because now I have to ask for a modification on our BIOS before they ship.

I would love to hear if someone found a fix for this.

Also, might be unrelated but I also have issues with bitlocker.  I have to set the bcdboot after reimage.

Regards,

BB
