Mix PS6110XS and PS6010 in same pool?
Hi
We are thinking about buying a PS6110XS for a VDI project.(vmware view 5.1)
Currently we have a SAN with 4 PS6010 (SAS/SATA) in one storage pool.
Would you recommend to put the new hybrid array in the same pool, or should we configure a new pool to assure VDI will get best possible performance?
Any other considerations?
(We are not seeing performance problems in existing configuration)

Unless you have a need for the additional storage space from the existing pool, it would be a good idea to add this member in to its own pool dedicated for VDI.
Here is a case study

This link has other VDI information:

This is a bit older, but discusses the VDI pool sizing:

The other important aspect of VDI is your SAN switch fabric, the case study has some good information on that as well.
