Can I delete the (default) Storage Pool from a multi-member Equallogic array group

Current Config:

1 Group, 3 Equallogic member Arrays: Array01, Array02 and Array03.

3 Storage Pools Array01 (default), Array02, Array03

I need to delete member Array01 to remove it from the group. Will the default storage pool move automatically to another Storage Pool? i.e. Array02?

I have already migrated all volumes and snapshots off Array01.

Required Config

1 Group, 2 Equallogic member Arrays: Array02 and Array03

2 Storage Pools Array02 (default?), Array03

Many Thanks in Advance.

The default storage pool cannot be deleted.  It will just sit there as an empty pool (without any array members assigned to it) if it is not used.

No, an array member can only be part of one pool at a time.  You assign a member to a pool.

The default pool will always be there if used or not.

Thanks Joe,

Can I assign the default storage pool to another array? or will it have to sit there as you said forever?

Cheers J

Just to be clear, you can delete a member (array) from any pool as long as there is enough remaining space in the pool to host volume data.

In regards to the default pool, you cannot delete it. It can remain a pool in the group without storage resources and you can reuse it anytime by adding members to it. So if you remove a member from the default pool, you can add a new member anytime you see fit.
