Adding new disks in the PS4100
Hello,
I have a PS4100 with 12 600GB disks in RAID-50 (4.18TB), and two discs are spare.
I want to expand more 1TB and need to know if I can buy more disks and adding the existing Pool.
Or I have to buy 3 more disks to a RAID-5?
After placing the new disc, the total space of the pool will be available for expansion?
Thank you.

Hello,
I already bought the disc and need to do to expansion.
What is the procedure to increase my array, after entering the new disks in drawers?
Simply put discs in drawers that they will be included in the array member?
PS: You're asking to update the firmware. I do before or after entering the new disks?
Thank you.

Hello,
it seems that is simple, then.
I'll put 12 discs the way you directed. (Partly, then one by one'll inserting completely).
When I enter the group manager, my MEMBER today appears disk 12-23 empty, will be allocated with these new discs.
Today the total capacity is 4.18TB with 12 disks.
After finishing the automatic storage process, this capacity will increase to 8.36TB about, right?
My storage:
-Storage Array Firmware V6.0.7 (R367725)
-RAID50 / (10) Disks 558.91GB / (2) Spares / 1KRPM
-Total Gross: 4.18TB
-Total Useful: 3.56TB
Regarding the firmware update, should I do after this process of adding disks, or before adding the disks?
I will continue using the two spares discs, or I'll have to set new 2 spares discs for this new set of disks?
Thank you.

Hello,
yes, they will be identical disks of the same capacity speed.
I understood that with the inclusion of more 12 identical disks I will not need to create a new set array.
I bought exactly the same amount that currently have.
Excuse me. I quoted the firmware because I was told that there is a process that when updated firmware, it will drill the array automatically.
Thank you.

Hello,
perfect.
I believe I did.
After inserting the disc, the storage will automatically perform the process of RAIDset by adding new disks in the empty slot and the ability of my pool-01 storage appear more capable to use.
The spares will continue to be the two current.
Regarding the firmaware, I will download the version 7 and 8. And I performed the update in sequence, before adding the disks.
I am sure the work to be done?
Thank you.

2 Cent Traffic System Review www.youtube.com/watch
If you are looking for high quality PLR then I highly recommend 2 Cent Traffic System. Its actually 5 traffic packages for one low price and is provided by the Dr. Amit Pareek and the HQ Plr Store Team.
They have set the standard for amazing Video Training PLR in particular.

Hello,
Now came the new hard disks!
As to complement.
When you say:
- Leave Them OUT A 1/4 inch or so.
- Once all the drives are staged, Then you can seat Them one at a time, one right after the next w / o pausing between Them.
I understood:
- Place almost entire inside, and a part outward;
- Will occur an automatic scanning process, that is, I hope a little after putting all of that position;
- Fit the rest of the disc is out;
- The docking sequence is to start on the right and go into place the other;
Sorry for the English translation.
Thank you.

Hello,
almost forgot.
During the process of firmware update and after installation of the new disks, my volumes that are in production will be affected? Ie, may be unavailable for some reason?
Or everything still works?
Thank you.
