VSM Upgrade

I am in the process of upgrading firmware on my 4100 and 6100 units and the support matrix will require me to upgrade VSM from 4.0 to 4.6. I currently have the appliance and I do not know if there is an upgrade path or if its a redeployment of the OVA for the appliance. The manual did not show anything related to upgrades. Is this an option?

If you check the download options carefully you will take notice that there is always a complete version which brings you the OVA and an ISO named Dell Virtual Storage Manager for VMware® v4.6.0 Upgrade Kit (ISO)

Upload this ISO into a Datastore or your ISO Bunker and mount the ISO into the CDrom of the VM. Login through ssh or just the console and presse the key for update or maintenance (cant remember). There is a option for "check for updates" and performing the update.

It would be wise to take an VM snapshot befor you start.

Iam not sure if you can update directly from 4.0 to 4.6. IIRC i update to 4.5 first......*hmmm*

Thanks Joerg! I successfully upgraded from 4.0 to 4.6 using the ISO method.
