Using HIT kit not compatible with SAN firmware

Hi,

We have a SAN group whose members are currently at firmware 8.1.1.  We recently ordered a couple PS6210E's to add to the group, so I was going to upgrade the firmware ahead of time on the current members to 9.1.x.  Unfortunately, two of the servers that access this group are Windows Server 2008 R2 (HIT kit 4.7.3), and the HIT kits recommended for 9.1.x aren't available for that OS.  Are there significant risks to running a HIT kit that is not technically supported by the firmware (according to the compat. matrix)?  I see that 9.0.x is a possible option, but I wasn't sure if the new SANs would already be at a higher version.

What recommendations do you have for my situation?
