Spare disk on PS4000 is showing offline
Hi,
We have two spare disks in a PS4000 raid. One is marked "spare" and the second became "offline" without any errors.
ven-1a34-group1> member select ven-1a34-san1 disk select ven-1a34-group1(member_ven-1a34-san1 disk_15)> show ______________________________ Disk Information _______________________________ Slot: 15 Status: offline Model: Hitachi HUA722010CLA330 Revision: JP4OA3KA Size: 931.51GB Errors: 0 Rpm: 7200 SectorSize: 512 Health: ok
Do you think the "offline" disk will go online automatically if the the other one fail ?

You are very welcome. Check the array events screen for any messages when you insert the new spare.

No that does not look correct. It should show as SPARE
disk sel 23 show

Status: spare
Model: ST33000650SS
Revision: RE12
Size: 2.73TB
Errors: 0
Rpm: 7200
SectorSize: 512
Health: ok
Either that is not a valid EQL array drive or failed at some point and was marked as invalid.
