Setup of 4 EQLs

hi there,

Due to a colleagues sickness I have been asked to install 4 Equallogic arrays into a green field site.

I was wondering if they should all go into one group and storage pool. Should I create a separate pool for each member? There are a variety of drive types

I appreciate any advice on this,

Huw

Any need to use array based syncronization? Otherwise place every member into a different pool because of different array characteristics. The EQL ALB is not *so* smart  or dont works in the way you may like to see. Avoid mixxing SSD/Hybrid with slower member with large capacities for an example.

For what reason you bought 4 different types?

Regards,

Joerg

Thanks for coming back. I have no idea why 4 different ones were bought - I asked that question myself!

Unfortunately all the presales work was handled by my now absent colleague. I may try Dell sales to see if they can help.

Otherwise I guess the advice is 1 group and 4 separate pools -1 per SAN??
