SANHQ Creating snapshots?
Hi, we recently upgraded our SAN HQ to the latest version, and now, every Sunday, all of my LUNs with snapshot space allocated take a snapshot.
I have no idea what is doing this, but I can confirm that it was after SAN HQ was updated.
Can anyone tell me where I would check and see what service is creating a snapshot?
Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Don, thanks for the reply. The firmware was upgraded to 8 at a similar time, so this is definitely the culprit. The description on each snapshot is
Schedule: Default
Description: Generated by Default Snapshot Schedule.
I cant see any schedule setup within the GUI of the group manager. We also run the vSphere VSM, which has the following System Schedules:
Backup DB
Verify Snapshots and Replicas
Monitor Disk Usage
I dont think it is these, as they are set to run every hour, and the snapshot is only happening at midnight every night it seems.
the VSM is the only thing that talks to the SAN directly.
Thanks,
Nathan

Further to this, I can see in the GUI event log that there is a schedule on the SAN that is creating the snapshots, however the schedule seems to be hidden or something.
