PS6210XS SSD only volume

Hello,

We plan to use PS6210XS and want to create SSD volumes for particular database tables.

Is it possible that we create RAID with only SSD disk and create volumes ?

If so,how can we configure storage pools?

Thanks

A PSxxxxXS alway supports RAID6 Accelerated or RAID6 Accelerated or RAID6 Accelerated and nothing else so it is a very easy choice ;)

A Pool is a collection of members and you can create up to 4 pools by clickig create pool withing GroupMgr. A Member always joins a pool and all capacity is usable out this pool.

Dont mix Hybrid or AFA members together with HDDs units within the same pool. So if its your one and only XS create a new pool and assign the member to it.

Thank you for your reply.

I read that PS6210XS has automated data tiering with hot data place on SSDs,so I thought  we can't create one volume manually on only SSDs disks.is it correct?

Best regards,

Correct! The XS use a internal tiering. Around 50% of the SSD capacity take all the incoming writes and transfer them later to the spinning HDDs. The other 50% are using for reading Hot blocks.
