PS4000 grpadmin not working afer upgrade FW from 9.1.1 to 9.1.9
Hello,
After upgraded a PS4000 from the release 9.1.1 to 9.1.9 the usual password of grpadmin don't work any more...
Moreover the IP address seems to be lost because the SAN doesn't respond anymore.
During the upgrade thru the "Storage Update Manager" everything work as expected. I could login/logout via ssh or serial without issues.
After the first part, the manager ask for reboot the ARRAY. I did it and I see on the seral screen 2 reboot without error.
But now if I try to login in console mode the the password seems to be not recognize (or disabled thru this terminal) and I can't ping or connect via ssh (IP).
Any idea of what could happened ?
Thanks

Hello,
You can't disable logins at the serial port, so that's not the issue. The array is down, that's why it's not responding to IP or pings. Something interrupted the boot process. have you tried connecting to the other controller?
During an upgrade restart the passive controller is rebooted first. Then once that finishes the active controller fails over to the upgraded controller. Then finally the last controller is restarted to finish it's update.
If that process doesn't complete properly you can end up booting off the wrong version of firmware. So try connecting to the other controller. If you get in do a:
CLI>show members
CLI>member select MEMBERNAME show controllers
'membername' is the name of the physical array.
CLI>member select EQL-Member1 show controllers
Please copy and paste the output (don't use screeenshots)

Don

Hello,
Can you still send me the output from the controller you can log in from?
only the active controller has enabled NIC ports. So the passive ports are already dark.
I suspect you have a mismatched firmware condition. Which means failover is no longer available.
I can be a quick fix if I have the output of the commands.

Thanks for your quick reply. You're right about the controller switch. On the other controller I can login without issue.
It's misleading because in 9.1.1 I could login on the passive controller (in RO). But now the login is denied without explicit message.
About the IP config, it's my bet. I switch off the ethernet of the 2nd controller on my switch. From that side everything is normal.
Thanks for your support.
