Flow control and Jumbo Mtu
Hi,
I have document from Dell "Win-Hyperv-2012OS-Config". It state that before installing EQL HIT kit we need to configure network (Broadcom Advanced Configuration Suite (BACS) tool) like:
| Option |
Value |
| Flow control |
Rx & Tx Enabled |
| Jumbo Mtu |
9014 |
Does this applies to native Windows 2012 teaming configuration?
Now I see MTU is configured 1500 on all nics, should it be changed and why?
Thanks

You dont use NIC Teaming on a Windows Host when having a EQL Storage. You will see weird behaviour like errors when trying to write to a volume and having only a single connection (because HIT things that there is only one NIC).
Under special workloads and environments a MTU of 9000 (Jumbo) *can* give you a better performance. For sure you will see a higher latency.
You have to setup your pSwitch first and than the Driver/NIC within the Host OS. The EQL use JumboFrames automaticly if the initiator logs in succesfully with a MTU of 9000. Check the "reporting" tab within the EQL GroupManager. Hold the mouse on one of the initiator login messages and look at the end of the line.
