Equallogic PS6000s in a hybrid group

Hi all,

We have 2 PS6000 SANs. One is SSD and one is SATA.

With the new firmware (V7.1.2) we were understanding that creating a group, and identifying the SSD array as such, it was supposed to perform as a hybrid array. The group does not seem to be performing as expected and the I/O is higher on the spinning disks than on the SSD (seems backwards).

Can anyone confirm this for me? I'm not finding documentation confirming it....

Any help would be greatly appreciated, maybe there is a configuration setting that we are missing? Perhaps there is a config guide out there that I am not finding?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mark

Hi Don,

Thank you very much for your response.

So yes, as you stated, we have separate arrays, one running all ssd and one running all Sata drives.

I don't understand this line:  "You can have one chassis with SSDs and one with SATA and have them function as a Hybrid EQL array."

Do you mean to say we cannot have one SSD and one SATA? If so, could we have one SSD and one SAS? Or do we go back to it needs to all be in one chassis?

Thanks,

Mark
