EqualLogic PS4100, with a red light on.

Hi,

We have an very old EqualLogic PS4100, with a red light on on a remote site (connected to an production server and working fine)

Admin already left and we dont have its management IP or credentials.

I have someone onsite who can provide remote hands.

Can I connect a laptop and get in or does dell provides some paid support for this?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

the Management is optional and maybe it is not configurated. So check your Host which Adress he used for its iSCSI connection to the array and try a browser with http:// or a ssh client and see whats happend. You need java installed to get the GroupManager running within the browser.

If you dont get a responce than the Management is active and its using a different Subnet as for Storage(iSCSI).

The user is named "grpadmin". If you dont have a password try "grpadmin"

If you have remote hands you can hook up a serial cable to the active Controller Modul with settings 9600,8,1,n in your favorite terminal programm (we often use putty). You need user and password also.

Regards
Joerg

Hello,

This thread has the pin out information

https://www.dell.com/community/EqualLogic/Equallogic-PS-series-RJ45-console-cable-pinout/m-p/3637200#M538

FYI: It's helpful if you start a new topic instead of adding to old closed one.

Regards,
