EQL Group Questions
We currently have a 5000X EQL and would like to add a new 6100X EQL to the same SAN group. But the problem is they are currently sitting in different physical buildings (they will be consolidated to one, but that is not right now). We are in the process of getting the new 6100X setup, but need to know a couple of things.
- Is it possible to change the group an EQL SAN is a member of after initial setup?
- If so, then how as I have been unable to locate that anywhere in group management?
- If it is not possible, then would turning off "Enable performance load balancing in pools" allow us to use the two SANs in two physical locations in the same group without impacting performance?
- We want to have them in the same group for when the physical consolidation is complete they can share resources.
- If we disable this feature, does it also disable the network load balancing as well as storage?
- If we enable this feature in the future, does that automatically start sharing resources, or is it too late at that point?
Any insight on this would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Chris

Thank you for your quick response Donald. Our setup would be between buildings within the same campus, but the building to building connection is not something we want to utilize for this. That was why I asked the question about turning off the sharing of resources of arrays in a group.
You answered all my questions, thank you very much. We will just have to create a new group for this array (we only have 3 arrays here, including this new one and none are in the same buildings yet).
Thanks,
Chris
