Improper Account Access

I noticed as I went to update my phone - which was replaced with an old value - that I still had access to old sites that had been previous denied to me, including my old place of employment and my old client sites.

I called my old company and my former boss was able to modify my user account, he removed my access to the old sites but could have updated my email, telephone address, etc. This seems like a major security problem to me. Has anyone else noticed the same?

Hi Erin,

that appears to be a conversion issue, and not a minor one (!). I agree - this is not a good situation, and I'm glad you were on good-enough terms with your former employer. I have notified the people involved with our data conversion, and will let you know when we've identified the source of the mismatch.

Thanks for letting us know - has anyone else seen this kind of thing?

Also, their address was incorrect, company name Technology Services Group. I'm glad we're still on good terms as well (c:

Yes and no... we've identified a cause, but are trying to figure out the fix. I was holding off on updating you because I wasn't sure if you fell into the group of users affected by the problem we found.

Specific to your account - are you still seeing anomalies?

Hmmm....somethings fishy here! This very same thing happened to me and then magically disappeared. Is it just us? :-)

What i'm left with is my PREVIOUS username on the forums with my NEW contact information. It just sort of "blended" itself together. It's very odd and certainly not secure!

Hi Scott,

though it may not appear so, the security in our system is a lot more robust than before.

What we've been doing to re-associating unconverted pre-Powerlink users to their pre-Powerlink IDs when we could identify them, so that you may retain your message history and points.

The Company information now comes from Powerlink - this would explain the "blending". I'm sorry if it caught you off guard - we've tried to communicate these issues as much as possible.
