Double and tripple email notifications

Hi,

I set email notification for DFC, Webtop and few others - very nice future :)
The problem is that I am getting notifications more than once, but there was time, when it was working properly. Is this already known?

Thx,
Maciej

I believe if message would be sent twice or more by EMC server you would see different message id. With same message id in header (and timestamp path) it indicates that problem was somewhere on your side. What you could do is contact local system admin to check logs for pop/imap/Exchange/whatever you are using and explain the issue you are seeing.

Hi Maciej,

I'm not getting extra notifications - I see you are watching forums and threads - could you be getting notified for updates to the forum AND to the thread? The email message is a little different for each type.

Thanks,
Erich

but I am watching only some threads, and now there are 4 emails per post....

The emails are identical.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Maciej - in case it's limited to your user, I'd like to ask that you delete all your current Watches, then recreate them one by one.

Let me know how it goes - thanks!

Erich

still the same.
The emails look exactly the same - 100% and they are send at the same time. So those are not different posts...
I could send a screenshot, but where?

If you check the header of message do they have same message id?

ID? The subject and the content is the same, do you mean that?

There were like two days, when it was working fine. I did nothing in betwen.

Regards,
Maciej

Nope, that would message-ID from header. I was referring to text part like this:

Inside notification email you have something called message id in text area.

That's (again) not what I asked, but ok :D

If you compare these headers you will see they are identical meaning issue is on your end. I have seen sometimes Outlook for some reason duplicate all my messages (only for IMAP account - at least that's what I witnessed) and restart would only help. Not sure about here, but headers posted seem to indicate that duplication was probably caused due to bad communication between your email client and email server.

I do not know, where is this ID :(

But I am getting only triple notifications from documentum forum, not from another forums, and not from documentum user management (account changes), so this is a litle strange.
