Memory question relating to a Dell PowerEdge T300 Server

My server is populated with 4 x 2GB ECC modules and have 2 slots spare, would I be able to populate these with 2 x 4GB ECC modules of the same speed CL etc?

Thanks for your help  :emotion-1:

You can use any sizes up to a 4 GB chip as long as you are within the max total capacity the server can handle.

Thanks for the info which I read earlier, I was just wondering if you have to stick to the same size modules throughout, as I already have 2GB modules installed.

As an aside I have located some of this RAM for sale, would this work in my T300 it has a very similar spec except the speed is 6400,

T300 specification in the manual states DDR2 PC-2 4200 & 5300 , these are PC2-6400

"In theory it should underclock , but cannot say this for 100%"

Would it?

Thanks
